When you spoke, -
I saw your words glisten, -
Dragon’s tears fallen to Earth. -
When you laughed, -
I felt my spine tingle, -
As the notes danced in the air. -
When you turned, -
Your lines were so graceful, -
Left vapour trails before my eyes. -
When you breathe, -
You capture the moment, -
Caressing her with the scent of life. -
But when you said these words,
My heart fell like gold
Black and heavy into oily sea:
“Let me go to the lowlands,”
“Where the birds skim the earth on the wing.”
“Touch the sun, skim stones from the lakeside.”
“Forget my time on this peak with you.”
When you speak,
I feel your words pierce me,
A dragon’s claw that tears through my soul.
When you laugh,
Your laughter is at me,
Sending chills and pain down my spine.
When you turn,
You do not turn to me,
But to another with trails ‘fore his eyes.
And when you breathe
You breathe for the moment,
Caressing hearts with icy eyes.
So I beg you love, to let me go,
To set my heart and soul free.
Let me go to the lowlands,
Mend my heart and find destiny…
