Today i was one those people caught up in the chaos of Jubilee line at Stratford, because as luck would have it there was a signal failure at West Ham. I was fortunate enough to have topped my ticket up (oyster Card) so i was able to use the DLR to get me to Canary Wharf, so that i could resume my Journey to London Bridge station for a training meeting at the Unicorn Theatre.

I had some time to spare before i actually got there, so this was spent on Queens Walk, which was rather pleasant and it got me thinking about how bad Transport for London is for the disabled person or in my case a wheelchair user who has to go through hell trying to organise my travel around London, when a system grinds to halt and causes immense hassle.

It is all very well giving out announcements saying please alternative transport as this is not very helpful for disabled people, because what they fail to realise is that the other lines except for DLR are not wheelchair accessible.

There are some stations which on the new section of the Jubilee line, which are an adventure to travel on and to get on with a wheelchair, for example London Bridge, Waterloo, because you practically have to launch yourself unto the train. Fortunately people are very friendly and helpful, the underground staff are not.

If however you know differently then please let me know as it would good to set the record straight.

I have one thing to report on which slightly annoys me people who gather by lifts at Canada Square and decide to have a fag right by the lift, as this is generally very annoying and downright rude, also it shows that they are ignorant to disabled people.

I have to do two more journeys this week so i will keep reporting my points of view and fact until someone notices and actually does something about it, actually I am and i am creating a course on disability the non bureaucratic version. Watch this space for more details.
